Measuring & Size Guide

A brown and white long-haired dog sitting in tall green grass, looking upward with its mouth open, wearing a black collar. Part of another dog and a person are visible at the edges of the frame.

Getting the right fit matters more with a collar or lead that you'll use every day for years.

Below is our full size chart for rope and leather styles, along with a straightforward guide to measuring your dog's neck and choosing a lead length that suits how you actually walk.

How to measure your dog's neck

Locate the right spot

Measure where the collar will naturally sit, just below the base of the ears.

Measure snugly

Wrap a flexible tape measure around the neck, leaving enough room to fit two fingers comfortably between the tape and your dog's neck.

Note it down

Record the measurement in inches, then match it to the nearest size in the chart below.

Rope Collars

Made to measure and non-adjustable. Choose the closest inch to your dog's measured neck circumference. Please note our rope collars are measured by the internal circumference and not end to end.

Frequently asked questions

What if my dog is between two sizes?

For rope collars, choose the closest available inch, or get in touch about a bespoke size made to your exact measurement. For leather collars, the buckle holes give you a small adjustment range either way, so check where your measurement falls within each size band above.

Should I leave extra room for a growing puppy or thick fur?

Yes, a small allowance is worth adding for puppies still growing into their adult size, or for breeds with a thick neck ruff where the coat adds to the measurement.

Can I get a custom lead length?

Yes, custom lengths are available as part of our bespoke service.

Do rope and leather collars fit differently?

Yes. Rope collars are made to one exact circumference, while leather collars adjust across a range of buckle holes, so it's worth checking which chart applies to the style you're choosing.
